Devin O’Brien, a double bassist based out of Atlanta, GA and Philadelphia, PA, is the Thomas and Patricia Vernon Fellow at the Curtis Institute of Music studying with Hal Robinson and Edgar Meyer. He was a semifinalist in the 28th annual Sphinx Competition and earned 3rd prize at the Hilton Head Symphony Youth Concerto Competition. Devin served as Principal Bass of Carnegie Hall’s National Youth Orchestra, touring North and South America. He was the first high school student to attend the Robert McDuffie Center for Strings in Macon, GA, studying with Daniel Tosky and Jeff Turner. He is a bassist with Symphony in C in Camden, NJ. He has upcoming performances on the Curtis Student Recital Series and at the Rome Chamber Music Festival.
